Our WeAllSew Countdown to Christmas is over – and we somehow omitted the final Christmas Day post for the backpack full of goodies! So we’re opening this question up for the whole weekend, and well pick a name at random from all the comments we receive before midnight, Sunday, December 28, Central Time. We apologize for the confusion!

What are your sewing resolutions for 2015?

My mom is 79 years old. When she was 6 or seven her grandmother gave her a modified double wedding ring quilt. The “melons” and “intersection” fabric didn’t lay flat, and though my Mom and Grandmother tried to remedy the problem the project never got finished. So, my goal is to finish this 70 year old project by Mother’s Day for my MOM! It’s an endeavor filled with challenges galore, but I’m determined to get it done!

I want to sew more, and get better at it. I’d love to be able to find a group to be part of. I like sewing clothes and I don’t know anyone around here who likes to do that. But I will keep on, and I hope I get a little better with each thing I make. There is nothing like experience!

I plan to start making next year’s Christmas gifts early. I also want to make a custom-fitted sloper for myself so I can start making my own clothes again (including bras). I’m really looking forward to getting a lot of sewing done in 2015! Thanks to Bernina for the awesome contests!

New Year’s resolution is to finish five UFOs that I have only a bit to do.

I’m finishing my first quilt in January and and want to do two quilts with two different friends in 2015. Hopefully, I’ll have time to do at least one more before the end of the year.

Oh that’s an easy one- I resolve to use more of my stashed (hoarded!) fabric!

To start sewing for Christmas 2015 now!

My resolution is to make more time to sew and to keep a tidier sewing space.

My sewing resolution is to sew more. I’m a beginner and I’d like to get better. If I could stick to sewing at least one garment a month for myself and my two daughters, I’d call that sewing success for 2015.

I have 5 unfinished and forgotten quilts, and 4 that get active lovin’. I hate that I get so excited whey a new idea pops into my head; everything gets put on hold until I’ve purchased fabric. I hope to finish all of them by the end of 2015!

My sewing resolutions for 2015 is to finish my 3 UFO’s, one dates back to 2004 and lacks the border (I really don’t like the quilt), another one to 2006 and all it lacks is to hand appliqué the border, and the last one is a round robin from 2007. I would also like to incorporate machine embroidery in my quilts like Amanda Murphy has in her quilts. Last but not least, is to improved my quilting skills by learning new techniques and stepping outside my comfort zone to work on more difficult patterns.

To sew more clothing for myself and work on free motion quilting

In 2015 I hope to finish a number of WIPs. I also have two baby quilts to make early in the year. I’m hoping to donate at least 10 quilts to a Children’s Hospital. Maybe I’ll even get more done!

I’m hoping to get several of my in-progress quilts finished and then get started on some that are on my “want-to-do” list.

First, Keep scraps organized as I go. They are all over the place and far too precious to just dump in a bag or box 🙂 Second, At least one day a week, work on one or more UFO’s and third, at least once a month, learn new a new garment sewing technique on my trusty Bernina 440 QE. There are more…but the list is so long I won’t bore anyone any further with it! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

First off, to finish up my WIP list, and then to go back to making garments, which I have not done for 30 or so years, and to learn to sew with knits. Here’s to a new shirt or skirt in 2015!

My goal is to finish two UFOs, finish two new quilts, and quilt one of the great-grandmother’s tops that I inherited. By the end of the year, I will have five finished quilts.

My 2015 sewing resolution is to finish wedding quilts for my children. So far I have one top done, one in process and another one not even started!

I resolve to spend 30-60 minutes each day sewing.

Finish quilting 4 UFOs. Figure out my BERNINA 830 embroidery modifications. Do one embroidery project each month. Purge my stash. That should keep me off the streets for awhile 😊

I was gifted with a B 530 so I plan to start in January sewing for the Holidays. I also have two unfinished quilt tops that will get done.

My resolution is to get better with my FMQ.

I purchased some leather earlier this year and plan to make a gun holster and knife sheath. I also plan to make a cell phone case.

My goal is also to learn to free motion quilt – I usually take the easy way out and do straight line quilting, but I hope to change that this year.

My resolution for 2015 is to finish all the projects that I’ve started! I hope to put a dent in the UFO’s I have!

Sew more garments for my daughter and other little kiddo’s! Take the leap and try and sew some knits, venture out of my quilty comfort zone

I’d like to step out of my comfort zone and utilize more than just the utility stitches on my machine. I’d also like to try free motion quilting on a small project. Being primarily a garment sewer, I don’t often have the occasion to do either of those things very often.

I plan to complete two projects before I can start another. I’m coming out of a slump after losing my Mother. I would start a project from a class but not go back to it. I purchased a new Bernina 350QE. And go far things are rolling along. I never lost my passion, just concentration. 2015 – look out.

Just registered to become a volunteer mentor for foster kids transitioning out of the foster care system. My goal is to find a way to make 26 quilts, one for each of these young people. I want to embroider inspirations all over the quilts to give them hope, strength, etc.
