Well it is spring . . . and the much-needed rain has arrived here in Texas, but so have the muddy pawprints at my backdoor, where the dogs come in the house. They now have a dedicated “Mudfoot Towel.” This quick and easy project also makes a GREAT gift for any pet lover you know.
Quilt Police, Take That!
I learned traditional quilting techniques in courses I took at my local art center. My teacher was adamant that quilts were to be made with cotton fabrics, using cotton threads, and hand quilting was considered better than machine quilting. The Quilt Police took up residence and I started shying away from Traditional Quilting.

AQS Paducah Quilt Show 2012
This past weekend was my first ever trip to the American Quilter’s Society Show and Contest in Paducah, Kentucky. As I walked around the show, I noticed a few trends that really sparked my interest, read all about it!
Kickin’ Cancer
Our technician, Darren, is a survivor. He was treated for Hodgkins about 8 years ago, and is very involved in Relay for Life. He asked us if we would help him make a quilt for auction, so naturally – we said yes! The theme this year is “Give Cancer the Boot.”
