Just SEW It! A Pile of Pillows, February 9
Join us on February 9th for One Pillow – Three Ways: Easy, Easier, Easiest! We’ll make one clean and simple, one with double cording detail, and a third with a mitered border. Choose that one you like best or make all three for a new look in your home.
“Blooming” Chrysanthemums
Boy, did I have fun creating this pillow using the three-dimensional designs in OESD’s Chrysanthemum Premier Collection #017! Parts of the design are heavily stitched, and when the embroidery is complete you simply cut through the stitches with a very sharp knife to make them “bloom.”
Craft Day Sewing
About a month ago, a few of my friends started showing a desire to learn to sew. We had recently started gathering for a weekly “Crafts Day” and were discussing all of the possibilities for our activities. We decided on a pillow, one of the simplest items to make.
Victorian Frills Applique Collection #12364
OESD Victorian Frills Appliqué Signature Design Collection #12364 is filled with beautiful machine embroidery appliqué designs including cut files for the BERNINA CutWork tool.
Rustic Refinement
Check out the current issue (Jan/Feb 212) of Creative Machine Embroidery for a simple embroidered pillow that I had fun making.
830LE Alphabet Project
I love the beautiful limited edition alphabet available with the BERNINA 830LE! With some stretcher bars and a staple gun it’s easy to create stitched artwork for hanging.
Gifts from the Kitchen & Sewing Room
Making homemade jam and pickles for holiday gift-giving is part of the holiday tradition and everyone looks forward to these yearly food gifts. This year I have added an embroidered kitchen towel, many of them personalized.
Birds in Winter Wallhanging
The cheery birds on this wintry wallhanging are from the OESD 2011 Holiday Collection #1.
Hanukkah Crafts to Sew
orate your home for Hanukkah or make something special for the Jewish holidays with any of these projects that we’ve gathered together from around the web.
Bias Binder Coaster
I’m so excited about using our new Bias Binder Attachment #88! I had these denim pieces that I had done some circular embroidery on (using Circular Embroidery Attachment #83). I put a piece of OESD FiberForm on the back, and backed that with a red cotton print.
