Colonial Doll Clothes

Description

We took a day-trip to Fredericksburg, VA, a few weeks ago. When we visited the James Monroe Library and Museum gift shop, I found this pattern and fabric for 18″ dolls!! https://www.etsy.com/shop/PastCrafts/items The pattern is easy to follow–with lots of nice illustrations. I chose to make the quilted petticoat (but did it by machine, not by hand). I’m still learning to be precise with my quilting–I got a bit wonky in quite a few places (but, it’s for a doll and she won’t complain!! LOL). I used Golden Threads quilting paper to draw the design, quilting pins to hold the paper to my quilt sandwich, and quilted the lines with my Bernina BSR foot. Next time I might try using a regular quilting foot and the stitch that looks like hand quilting.
