How to Sew a Corded Ruffle: Free Video Tutorial

Last week we shared a video on gathering fabric using two rows of long stitches. This method works great for most projects, but what if you’re using a fabric with some “oomph” to make a long ruffled piece for a sofa skirt or window treatment? For these projects I prefer gathering over a piece of sturdy cord or heavyweight thread. Connie uses gimpe cord – my personal favorite – but you can also use perle cotton and other thick, strong threads. (I’ve even used dental floss in a pinch!) And now, here’s Connie to show you how to sew a corded ruffle.
