Gayle Schleimann composed her Peace, Love, and Joy Chirpy Bird trilogy in BERNINA Embroidery Software 6, using simple letter kerning, manipulation, and pattern run items to create her pieces. The best part was incorporating her new Chirpy Bird designs!
“Wool N’ Spools” Needle-Punched Quilt
The fabric for Paula Atwood’s “Wool N’ Spools” creation is reclaimed wool from old skirts, etc. that she took apart and felted in the washer. She cut out the positive/negative shapes and needle-punched them to the woolen base using BERNINA’s Needle Punch Accessory Set.
Japanese Temari Décor
I was visiting my friend Gayle and found these beautifully decorated balls all around her home. Of course I was amazed when she explained how they were created by an old Japanese art called Temari. What a great way to use up all those threads we have laying around!
