Lynn Brannelly

Professionally, I'm a costume designer and a wardrobe stylist for film and television here in Los Angeles, California. "Lynn wardrobe" is well, a nickname. When on set, when anyone from production calls for you over the walkie talkie, it's your first name and the department you work in. I've been in this business 24 years so, Lynn Wardrobe it is.
As for sewing, I have to admit, I might just be "the old girl in the club." I've been sewing since I was 8 years old, Barbie has never had it so good. I started sewing custom apparel, bridal, pageant gowns and way OCD Halloween costumes, in 1987 for the affluent in Atlanta, Georgia.
Three children later, I returned to college at 35 years old for a degree in fashion design and interior design, at this point I'd already been working as a costume designer for film and television for 8 years.
As most of you know sewing is a really isolated sport sometimes, and for a lot of years there, it seemed that I didn't know very many people who sewed. Then I discovered this whole new community online of people who love to sew. I am fascinated by all the needle arts, fashion, and fashion brands history. I am a serial thrift shopper, vintage thrift especially and I love, love, love a good refashioning challenge. I'm definitely down with all the DIYers. I look forward to sharing my experience, encouraging new sewists and am grateful to be a part of this sewing, lifestyle and creative community.
