125th Anniversary Quilt-along
Description
I’m rather new to FMQ although I’ve been quilting for many years. Before I purchased my Q20 sit down longarm a few months ago, I quilted my quilts using the embroidery module on my 830, or I did straight line quilting with a walking foot. This is the first large quilt I did on my Q20. I did a little free motion but the majority of the quilting is ruler work. I really wanted to do feathers in the border area but I’m not quite ready for feathers yet, so ruler work it was. I tried to bring the octagon shape into the borders with my ruler work and with the lace. To add a little sparkle I beaded the lace with silver beads and a few white beads. I binded the quilt with a flange binding, bring back the darker teal fabric from the framework. For the backing fabric I selected a large print with ferns and leaves that matches the colors in the quilt top. I really enjoyed this quilt along. Thank you Amanda for all your hard working putting this together and and thank you Bernina.

Thank you, teal and gray seem to be my color choice recently. First time I every beaded a quilt, I’m glad I did.

I love the wintery frost color scheme. The lace and beading really make this quilt special. You quilting choices are unique and very complimentary to the piecing and fabric choices. All your piecing looks very exact!

Thank you for your compliments. It’s the first time I ever added beads to a quilt. It took many hours but I really enjoyed doing it. I think I’ll even do it again.
