My first sampler

Description

I started this quilt after Christmas 2023, when a friend in our quilt group offered us 3 tree foundation paper piece patterns to start to copy her Christmas quilt. After sewing a few more of my own trees, I was inspired to put together my own Christmas sampler quilt. After much trial and error, I settled on this. It was a whole lot of fun learning new techniques and figuring it all out. I still have to choose a pantograph for the long armer.  There is a lot of open background space, so I want to use a variegated thread for the quilting to pull the colors altogether. When I held it up to take it over to my design wall, with The light shining through it, it reminded me of a stain glass window.
