Part 1: 125th Anniversary Quilt, My second Piecing Project Ever at 71 years yount
Description
Wow, I waited to upload to project site as not sure I would finish project. ( I did entire quilt-a-long in January). Our fabric kit arrived in late November. My plan was to start Part 1 before we went from Montana to Texas for a Christmas family vacation. However, on Christmas Eve I slipped in the tub and fractured a vertebrae in my back. I did not let the situation slow me down for rest of vacation even though I had limited mobility. That said, I finished Part 1 upon our return on January 1, 2019. My inspiration for doing the Quilt-A-Long was first the fabric is so beautiful and I was also inspired to learn to do so many different piecing techniques. I had never quilted with Metallic thread, witch was a challenge but worth the work and time to complete. Learning color blending when making a quilt was awesome also. My blocks turned out almost perfect, I was so excited. Your techniques are so easy to follow. My husband, made me a 6 1/2 square template to assist me in squaring all the blocks. I am new to uploading pictures and was amazed when they magically appeared.
