A Beary Good Machine
Description
My first Bernina was a 1020, and also remains to be my only machine. I purchased it more than 30 years ago. It has been serviced only twice. Over the years, I have invested in several specialty foots to accommodate new interests or projects. I have also purchased two additional machines over the last ten years to house in Boston and Philadelphia where my two oldest daughters live. Although neither of my daughters sew, at least I have the best of the best machine to complete projects such as curtains and pillows for their respective homes.
For at least twenty years, my primary creations were jointed teddy bears using mohair fabric. The 1020 managed the fur exquisitely, with just a periodic cleaning of the fur in the feed dog area. Now I primarily take on quilt projects and sew almost everyday.
My Bernina 1020 is truly a love affair: dependable, trustworthy and productive!!! Thank you Bernina, I have never regretted the purchase inspite of my friends with the other brands.

I just gave my my 1020 to my daughter. She is calling asking how do I loosen the hand wheel as it doesn’t look like the one in the picture. Help!
