Carriers corner of heaven
Description
I sew almost every day. I have been sewing since I was 7. I bought my 1973 Bernina record just prior to getting married. I was lucky enough to be working in a fabtic store that was also a Bernina dealer. This was to be “my”sewing machine as up till then I shared a Singer with my mom. I bought the folding table too and I still have both today. They are the heart of my creativity.
I am an emotional quilter. Almost all my projects have a personal connection such as a quilt of “best wishes and positive thoughts” for a friend with cancer to an extra large extra special teddy bear for my friend’s first daughter.
From my first apartment to my current home, all across the US, I have always had a sewing room. I began quilting in 2003 and although it is a vast majority of of my creative efforts, I still call the center of my home “my sewing room”.
Last year I bought my cutting table from a neighbor that had made it for himself. It is a most wonderful accompaniment to my sewing machine. I am truely blessed to have such a space and tools.
