Collaging and Free Motion Stitching Quilt-As-You Go House Blocks

Description

Have you used your Bernina’s Stitch Regulator (BSR)? In this video I demo using it to free motion stitch collage houses onto blocks.

I’m using a quilt as you go method, but you could collage these houses onto anything: a hoodie, kitchen towels, a tote, etc. The houses are darling and feel like folk art charm in all the best ways.

I used Steam-A-Seam to stick my house blocks in place before I stitched them. It’s the perfect easy to use fusible for collage work, because it is repositionable. You can also draw on the backing paper to help you cut out specific shapes.

I’m doing a series of House blocks this summer on YouTube @happyquiltypeople. I’d love for you to join in! I’m live Wednesdays at 4pm Central.

I really did love using the BSR for this easy QAYG block. It’s the perfect tool for any thread drawing project.

Happy Sewing!
