Jan’s Favorite Hideaway

Description

When I moved to an old (1785) farmhouse in Vermont, I commandeered this small bedroom for my sewing room.  Its particular charms included a slanted ceiling (I neglected to think about where I’d put the design wall) and an almost equally slanted floor (I quickly discovered I needed a rug, as my wheeled sewing chair rolled merrily away from the sewing machine on the wooden floor).  Though it’s not as big or as practical as many sewing rooms I’ve seen, it is my favorite room in the house.  Everything I need seems to fit, one way or another, and my sewing machine sits in front of a window with a lovely view, out through the treetops to the side pasture.
