My Bernina Anniversary Quilt

Description

What a gorgeous quilt! And it coordinates with my living room sofa. I did have a hard time cutting into this beautiful fabric, but looking at the picture of the finished quilt got me past that problem. Once I got cutting I kept each fabric in a baggie, for simple organization. Next I went on to sewing the first 6 blocks blocks. So far no problems. Next up, the embroidery of the cornerstones. I tested using both the same thread in needle and bobbin, and using my standard 60 wt. polyester bobbin thread in a similar color. I could see no difference in the finished embroidery, so I have been using the bobbin thread. I am really enjoying this project, and my Bernina 830 was just in for a tune up and cleaning so all is going smooth.

  • My first Bernina was the 1130, purchased in the late 1980’s. I made some clothes for my young son, and many stretch and sew items for myself. Then, around 2006 I became interested in machine embroidery, and purchased a used 630. Now, I have an 830 plus all my earlier Bernina machines. I would not use another brand.
