Wool Challis Over Shirt

Description

I found a beautiful piece of floral wool challis at an estate sale for the miserly sum of one dollar – perfect to use with my recently-purchased second-hand Bernina Artista 180. The Bernina had one previous owner who passed away a few months ago, and in her honor I named the machine Lois Bernina.

I barely had enough fabric for my project and had to piece the collar. Making it led me to using several of the feet that came with Lois Bernina, including the flat fell foot which I love. The project was a bit of a struggle at times because that wool wanted to unravel at the slightest touch, but Lois and I soldiered on, and I love the resulting shirt!
