QuiltCon 2013 and the New Era Modern Quilting
The Modern Quilt Guild’s QuiltCon 2013 is over after an impressive four days of classes, lectures, exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, give-aways, and more. All of you who followed my QuiltCon journey on Facebook got a sneak peek of the event. Back in Chicago I cannot stop looking at the great quilts on my camera!
The Golden Quilter Awards
Check out Kari Carr and the other BERNINA National Artisans nominated for SewCalGal’s 2013 Golden Quilter Awards. Voting ends February 28, and the awards ceremony will be March 1. Vote today!
Shots and Stripes
Watch for Kaffe Fassett and Liza Prior Lucy’s latest book, Shots and Strips, due to be released in late February. The book features quilts made only with woven stripe and “shot” (woven solid) fabrics. All but a couple of quilts, which were hand-pieced or appliqued, were pieced on Liza’s BERNINA sewing machines.

United Nations Group Makes New York-Themed Quilts
One of the best things about keeping in touch with former students is to be able to see how they progress. We just received this wonderful picture from a group of wives of United Nations delegates that had been students here 2 years ago.
