My first Bernina
Description
I bought my first Bernina back in the late 90’s it was an Artista 180 with an embroidery module and I loved that machine! I had been sewing on a JC Penney/Brother that I had bought in the early 80’s, I would shop at my local fabric shop who was a Bernina dealer and look longingly at the beautiful machines. One day I test drove one and was smitten, along came Bernina financing and finally was a proud owner of my very own Bernina! I am now have a Bernina 750QE but my 180 will always hold a special place in my heart. Now as I go into my local fabric shop I dream of the longarm machine….just dreaming….maybe someday 🙂
In 1972, I tried out 5 different machines. The stores and dealers at that time let me bring them home for 3 days to try out. My husband, being an engineer, looked at the interior of all 5. BEFORE I even sewed on the first 830 Bernina, he undid the top, looked inside and said….”Buy this one!” And, that’s how I got my first Bernina, which is now owned by my sister-in-law; and purchased the 930, which is now owned by my daughter …. and have had a 1530, 440QE, and now own a 640E and a 830LE!!! When you own a Bernina, it is a true love affair!!! I was a Bernina educator in two different dealerships for over 20 years, owned my own Custom Made business and my drapes, machine art, weddings, quilts, etc. were all … every single stitch, made on Bernina!!!
