My 1st Bernina & why I started sewing

My first Bernina quickly became my best friend, which is interesting because I originally purchased it for my best friend or actually a project FOR my best friend.

I needed to make a dog bed and bandannas for my best furry friend, Luigi, and did not was to use glue or the iron seam stuff so I called multiple sewing machine shops before I drove to one an hour away. I “test drove” 5 different machines before settling on the Bernina 550QE. I did not need the quilting features (I thought) as I had NO desire to make blankets and all that foo-foo stuff.

That was 2 years ago and last week we went and traded my 550QE in for a 770!
