My Sewing Corner

I have been sewing with a Bernina for quite some time, however it was not until I purchased my Bernina 770QE that my true passion for quilting and sewing blossomed.  I absolutely love my machine.  I can sew, quilt and embroider.  I absolutely love the versatility of this machine.  It has made wanting to sew enjoyable and fun!  It has taken me a while to perfect my sewing corner, but I think that I actually have it perfected for now.

I created my own weightless quilter out of pvc pipe and clamps from Lowe’s Home Improvement store.  This has been a lifesaver with my heavy quilts.  When I am not quilting, I use it to hang my recently finished quilts as inspiration.

I upgraded my sewing desk to a more practical and sturdy option.  I bought two Alex drawers from Ikea and suspended a heavy butcher block table top for stability.  Now when I am quilting and embroidering my machine stays firm to the table and allows my projects to come out beautifully.  Since I have two drawer sets on either side of my machine I can store a bunch of supplies within an easy reach.  I have thread, scissors, rulers, templates, embroidery hoops, stabilizers, and several current projects and fabrics stored inside.
