18” doll Rococo costume
Description
This project used quite a few techniques that my BERNINA 475QE made easy! I like the smaller #34 clear 1/4” foot for most of my doll projects.
The petticoat used a twin-needle for a windowpane look with slashing in the centers. The corset portion used my #31 pintuck foot to make perfectly spaced channels. I used my #5 blindstitch on the hem. I had to hand sew the pearls and channel pleats, as well as the corset holes.
The dress needed overcast in a variety of places. I gathered the front ribbon ruffles right on the machine with #5 foot to keep it centered, and also used that versatile foot to attach trim evenly.
My BERNINA makes sewing doll clothes a joy. I’m saving for a serger next!
Stunning!
