Vacation Time Is Here! Making A Backpack Using Several Bernina Feet

Description

Recently, I challenged myself to design and sew a backpack.  I used many stabilizers like sew in foam, decor bond and woven fusible to reinforce the backpack.  When sewing with my BERNINA 560, I had no difficulty at all sewing through these bulky and thick layers.   I also used my #12C Overlocker foot for piping on the backpack and my #4 zipper foot to add some functional zippered pockets to the backpack. With so many changes in feet during this project, it was quite easy to change a foot.  The design of the feet make it easy to put the feet on and take them off quickly.  I loved making this project on my BERNINA.  I also sewed mesh pockets on and used fold over elastic.   My machine had no difficulty at all with the different fabrics either.  This backpack is a pattern design I am working on and my BERNINA makes it a joy to test my patterns and sew them up on it.

    • Hello,

It has some features that are more complex, however, my patterns all have full color pictures with each step. Each step also includes in-depth directions. When writing a pattern, I am sure not to assume the sewer has a particular skill level so I write the patterns to be followed easily. If you subscribe to my site at quirkyb.com , you will be notified when this pattern becomes available as well as others. I also offer video tips for different techniques.

      Thank you so much,

      Brianna
