My first Bernina

Description

My first Bernina is a 770QEE that I purchased last spring.  It was time for me to update to a computerized sewing machine from a mechanical sewing machine I bought 18 years ago.  I was amazed at how many sewing brands made machines that had so many nice features and tons of accessories included but poor stitch quality (especially buttonholes) next to my older machine that was starting to fail. They felt cheap and plastic, too.  When i tested them it felt like i would break those machines.  Then i found the Berninas, which are still made to be a all around workhorse.  I call it a computerized sewing tank.  My son’s friends call it a sewing spaceship.  Yes i have the embroidery too.  It has been a wondful addition to my sewing room.  I have already put on 1.5 million stitches and plan to put on many millions more.  Thanks for continuing to make solid and sturdy machines for those of us who do more than just dabble or quilt.

  • In 1984, my mother drove down to see me in Southern California from her home in Oregon. When she arrived, she told me that there was something for me in the trunk of her car. When I opened the trunk, I saw a large box that was covered in homemade cards that covered every holiday of the year. Once I was able to get the box out of the trunk and into my house, I opened it to find a brand new sewing machine, a Bernina 930!!!!!! This machine still works, however the bobbin winder gave out. I have loved sewing on this machine!!!
