You can find inspiration in everything. And if you can't, look again. (Paul Smith)
Ingrid loves fabric, any kind of fabric - printed, embroidered, embellished, you name it... Anything to do with fabric or thread is right at home with her.
She has worked with fabric her entire adult life, including as a fashion buyer and CEO of her own fashion label. Since leaving the fashion industry, Ingrid has continued to work with fabrics as a quilt and quilt block designer and quilt book author.
In 2018, she launched her label, "Joe June and Mae." You can find all of her patterns, sewing tutorials and blog at www.joejuneandmae.com
Quilting has been her hobby since high school. Foundation Paper Piecing is one of the many quilting techniques that she loves in particular.
She's lived in Canada for a very long time and got to know the deep-rooted quilting community there. Ingrid quickly progressed from simple shapes like squares and triangles to more detailed blocks like animals, plants, fairy tale motifs and much more.
Ingrid is not a minimalist and has always been drawn to bold colors and designs. Her love for bright colors and unique fabric combinations may be a bit much for some, but she lives by the Iris Apfel quote, "More is more, less is a bore."
Don't be shy about your color combinations, grab your sewing machine and fabrics and get sewing!
