Between the Lines Quilt Along: Part 4, 5 & 6

We are six months into the Between the Lines Quilt Along. A row-by-row quilt along where we sew a new row every four weeks.

Time for an update! Here are the 4th, 5th and 6th row that we sewed. In my previous blog post, you will find the first three rows.

During the quilt along, we cover different quilting techniques like Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) on freezer paper and tea bag paper, traditional piecing, strip piecing and sewing quarter circles.

The QAL is hosted on the BERNINA International blog. I’ll update you here on the WeAllSew blog after every three rows.

Join the QAL!

Would you like to join in? You sure can! You can find an overview of the quilt along here. There you’ll find the links to the blog post (which includes the patterns and written instructions) and to the recordings of the live video instructions that I give for every row.

Would you like a kit with all the materials you need for this quilt? There are a few kits left in the Sugaridoo webshop. You can order a Rainbow kit or a Blue-Green kit.

Part 4: Row 3 Boomerang

For row 4 we get to work with foundation paper piecing again. What is your favorite method for FPP? On freezer paper, on normal printing paper, or maybe on tea bag paper? All these methods would work very well on this row.

Pattern and Instructions

There are written instructions available for this row. There is also an instruction video for row 3, boomerang.

Between the Lines on the Qmatic

This row-by-row quilt is perfect to quilt on a long arm. I’m already thinking about designs for the Qmatic to help me quilt the quilt.

When the quilt top is finished I’ll be sharing the Qmatic patterns with you here on the We All Sew blog. You can download these patterns to use on your Qmatic, or send them to your longarmer to quilt your quilt for you.

Next up in the Between the Lines QAL

There will be three more rows in this quilt along. Are you sewing along?

Till next time!
Irene
