The instructions call for one color inside and one color outside. To make the front one color and the back a second color, you’ll need to sew two pieces together, then cut the pattern so the seam falls on the fold line. Then one color will fold to the front and the other will fold to the back. If you want the flap to be the same color as the front (or a third color), you’ll need to piece along the flap fold line as well. You’ll end up with a piece of fabric with three big stripes to cut your pattern from. I’d leave the inside one color when piecing the outside, otherwise the double layers might be difficult to fold along the seamlines. Does that help? If not, e-mail me at [email protected] and I’ll make a sketch and send it to you. Jo

Will I be using the same measurements if I am using two different colors for the front and back?
