Pieceful Farm Quilt Cottage

This is my quilt cottage — my home a few steps away from home. After dealing with flooding in the basement (where my sewing room was located) off and on for years, we built a 16’x24′ Tuff Shed just a few dozen steps from our home. After the shed was built, wired, insulated, sheetrocked and painted — it was time for the fun to begin! One wall is lined with (almost) floor to ceiling cubby bookcases for fabric, yarn, patterns/books and craft supplies. Another bookcase holds my other sewing machines (yes, I may have a problem in that area). I kept the paint neutral to show off my quilts and stenciled signs. A bulletin board and pegboard hold rulers, scissors, magazine clippings and even a few Best of Show ribbons from the county fair! My sewing table is in front of the window (and near the wall-mounted TV). My wonderful BIG cutting table is located in the middle of the space, and my Innova long arm sits at the other end of the room. Behind that is my design wall. Some pretty turquoise drawer units hold thread, bobbins and pantographs. I made the fun sewing theme curtains and the ironing station. An old cabinet sewing machine painted bright pink has a special spot on one wall. We live on a wheat farm, so my long arm business is called Pieceful Farm. The outside of my quilt cottage is painted barn red to reflect our agricultural heritage, and is complete with a 4′ quilt square and flower boxes in the windows.
