Sew to Serve: The Sleeping Bag Project
If you can sew or quilt, then you can help My Brother’s Keeper Quilt Group transform used and no-cost fabrics into warm sleeping bags for those in need. The mission behind My Brother’s Keeper, The Sleeping Bag Project, is to help the homeless stay warm through winter with handmade sleeping bags until they can find help through other channels in our society. Find instructions on The Sleeping Bag Project website for making a sleeping bag to help the homeless. Donate your handmade sleeping bag to a shelter by checking the list of locations at The Sleeping Bag Project website, or check the local listings in your area under “Social Services” to find organizations that you can contact regarding distributing your handmade bags.
