Diamonds 2 Quilt Along, Part 4: Quilting Row Three
Hello BERNINA enthusiasts! Welcome back to the Diamonds 2 Quilt-Along! I’m BERNINA Expert Amanda Murphy and this month I’ll show you how I quilted the large diamonds in our sampler!
Diamonds 2
If you missed the first three parts of the quilt-along you can find them here:
- Diamonds 2 Quilt Along, Part 1: Piecing
- Diamonds 2 Quilt Along, Part 2: Quilting Row One
- Here you can find general directions on handle quilting order on both a longarm and sit-down or domestic machine.
- Diamonds 2 Quilt Along, Part 3: Quilting Row Two
If you are on a frame, you’ll want to first stabilize this area by quilting along the seam between the bottom of the large diamonds below it. (If you are on a domestic you have probably done all your stitch-in-the-ditch work already, as described in a previous post.)
I quilted each diamond a bit differently, but you certainly don’t have to. You can choose your favorite design and use it in each Diamond or you can put your own spin on these designs. If you are nervous, using matching thread can really hide mistakes, but if you are feeling especially bold, go for a slightly contrasting thread ?
