Free Pattern: The Aurora Quilt
Good Morning! My name is Jessica Dayon and I’m so happy to be here today to share a free quilt pattern with you!
I have been busy making end of the school year gifts for my kids’ teachers. I came up with this design for a teacher who is retiring after this year. Her favorite color is blue so I did a blue Irish chain quilt and I added in a little something extra in honor of all the years that she was a teacher.

Piecing the Quilt
I used Blueberry Delight by Bunny Hill. These prints are just gorgeous! First, I cut all the pieces I needed to make the quilt top. Then, I worked on making all of the blocks and assembling the quilt top.
Quilting the Quilt
After the top was together, it was time to quilt it! I loaded the quilt onto my large PRO frame.
I used my Q 24 with Q-matic to quilt this quilt. I chose Ginger Snap by Apricot Moon Designs edge-to-edge design.
The Q-matic and Q 24 went to work stitching out the design! I love watching it stitch out!
Completed Aurora Quilt
After the design finished stitching out, I trimmed the quilt and added the binding. Here is how it turned out!
I am so happy with how it turned out! The pantograph stitched out beautifully.
Thank you for following along with me today! I hope you love this quilt as much as I do and that you have fun making it!
