Fast Forward Quilt Along, Part Two
Hello, BERNINA-lovers – happy summer! I’m BERNINA Expert Amanda Murphy and this month I’ll show you how to assemble all the blocks that you made last month to make both the Fast Forward quilt top and backing!
Fast Forward
If you missed last month’s post you can find it here. There is still time to catch up before we start quilting if you’d like to join in.
Some of you with eagle-eyes figured out that Fast-Forward’s Assembly is a little bit of an optical illusion. Because of the way the rows had to be assembled to produce the design, three of the Flying Geese are actually made from half-square triangles. We are going to emphasize the illusion of the geese racing randomly across the quilt top when we add the quilting, but I’m getting ahead of myself.
Fast Forward Assembly
I pieced my version of Fast-Forward on the BERNINA 475 QE, which is a beautiful little 5mm machine that is incredibly precise.

Next month we start the very best part… quilting!
Detail of Fast Forward. You CAN quilt this; I’ll show you how!
Post your progress on social media and don’t forget to tag @berninausa and @amandamurphydesign because we can’t wait to see what you make!
Happy assembly to all of you!
