Fast Forward Quilt Along with Amanda Murphy
Happy spring, BERNINA fans! I’m BERNINA Expert Amanda Murphy and I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be leading another quilt along right here on WeAllSew, starting this May and continuing through November! This one is called Fast Forward. Here is a sneak peek!
Fast Forward Quilt Along Sneak Peek!
I’ve designed this piece to help take your quilting to the next level and I hope you love it as much as I do! During the months of the quilt along, I’ll walk you through piecing and quilting Fast Forward step-by-step, and along the way, you’ll learn my favorite machine features, what I think about when I’m deciding how to quilt a piece, and how I break down large areas of space to make things more manageable.
Are you on board? If you are you can download the supply list here.
I’ve provided four suggested color stories using my Cotton Shot Basics line for Benartex, or you can make up your own. Check with your local dealer to see if they can cut you a kit!
The 4 Colorways for Fast Forward
Did I mention this is a 2-sided quilt? So the supply list actually covers fabric for the front AND back of the quilt, plus the binding. We’ll also be making a little coordinating bonus project at the end so if you’d like to do that note that you should order a little extra of 3 of the fabrics, as noted in the PDF.

I’ll be filming the quilting on my BERNINA Q 24 on the Pro Frame and the piecing on the lovely BERNINA 475. Of course, I’ll include notes on how to modify the quilting order if you are quoting on a Sit-Down Q Series or a domestic as well, so everyone should feel free to join!
If you are a person that really likes to plan ahead note that we will be using three sets of my Good Measure Quilting Templates for the quilting: Every Angle, Every Circle, and Every Ribbon Candy. The straight-line template from my Jubilee set is optional but nice to have on hand as well. We will also use my Measuring Gauge.
I look forward to starting Fast Forward with you on the second Wednesday in May!

How difficult would it be to have a different color way on the back?
-
Completely different might be hard as you use the pieces you cut off in making the flying geese on the quilt to make the half-square triangles on the back. Just changing the main back color would be easier.

Amanda ~
Can you please tell me how I should acquire the pattern for this project? If I need to buy it I would love to have it when you start in May.
Thanks,
Beth-
The pattern comes out in installments in the blog posts. It is free. There is a different PDF (and sometimes accompanying videos) posted each month.

Where do we access the designs files? Are they already on the Qmatic?

This design is done with rulerwork and free-motion, rather than computerized files. The directions for the rulerwork and free-motion will be given in installments on weallsew.com each month.

I’m considering this for the first time. I have a few questions:
1. what is the finished size of the quilt
2. Is it on a certain day and time – or is it recorded so I can watch when I’m done with work?
3. If it’s on certain days – what days and what time?
4. Do I log in here to see it or is it another site?
