Diamonds 2 Quilt Along with Amanda Murphy
Happy summer, BERNINA enthusiasts! I’m BERNINA Expert Amanda Murphy and I’m excited to announce that I’ll be leading another Diamonds Quilt Along right here on WeAllSew, starting this November!
This time we’ll be creating a quilt in the mint color story and, although the piecing is the same, the quilting has been completely redesigned. Why? Well, I’m so glad you asked! Because BERNINA and I want to show you how quilting can completely transform a piece. Here is a sneak peek of what we will be working on . . .
Diamonds 2 Quilt Along

Some of you might have heard the Q Series has a brand new Studio Frame! I was fortunate enough to quilt on the very first one this spring and it is awesome! So sturdy and easy to assemble—and it is compatible with the Q 16, Q 16 PLUS, AND Q 20. I was honored that BERNINA asked me to continue to provide education for you all with a focus on frame quilting, and we decide that the Diamonds Quilt with a brand new quilting plan is a great vehicle perfect vehicle for this. Of course, we’ll have tutorial videos for you to watch and diagrams for you to follow as you quilt along.
The New Q Series Studio Frame
Of course, you can still participate in the quilt along if you have a domestic or a Sit-Down Q Series, but this time we’ll be providing extra tips for quilting on a frame.
So why are we posting this now? In these crazy times, shipping fabric and notions can take longer than it used to and we want to be sure that you’ll have what you need.
To reserve your materials, contact your local BERNINA dealer and ask that they order you a Mint Diamonds Kit (DIAMNTKT) from Benartex before the end of the month so you can quilt along with us! You can also use one of the other color stories if you prefer, of course.
You’ll also need to make sure you have my new Every Heart Set 2 quilting templates. (Yes, there is also a Set 1 with different sizes but we’ll be using Set 2 for this quilt.)

The directions will be here on weallsew.com and will be free. You can order kits and rulers through BERNINA dealers. Just make sure to order soon so that you will have the materials in time – they are currently taking pre-orders.

What are the other color stories available for the quilt along? Is the design printed on the panel, or does the top need to be pieced before November? Thanks

This is so cute. I did finish the first Diamonds. I made the quilt, and have it sandwiched but did not get started on the quilting. Should I do the first one before doing this one? I really loved piecing this top.

I have purchased the mint diamonds fabric kit and every hearts 2 templates. I did not make the first diamond quilt you made last year, so I have no other templates Will you be using other templates? If yes, which ones so I can purchase them.
Also, will your classes be live? If yes, what are the dates so I can mark them on my calendar?

You’ll need a straight template as well, like my Every Angle or the Jubilee straight one from that set.

The classes won’t be live, although for the quilting portion there will be video to watch. You can find the posts here on weallsew.com the second Wednesday of every month, starting November 10th.

What are the dimensions of the finished quilt?

I am in Australia and very interested in the quilt along but my Q20 is a sit down model at this stage.
Could you please send me the details of how to register for this and the cost?
I will also need to purchase the kit and the rulers.
