Getting Ready for Wear Red Day
We’re digging in our closets for anything and everything red to wear for National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 3, are you ready with your red? Wear Red Day was created to spread awareness for and to support the fight against heart disease in women, which kills more women each year than all cancers combined. There are all kinds of events surrounding Wear Red Day and lots of ways that you can support the Go Red mission, from coordinating an event to spreading the word and even making a donation. Read all about what you can do to help at Go Red for Women. And find a National Wear Red Day Toolkit at the National Heart Lung and Blood institute.
Read about how the fashion industry is involved in the Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection Fashion Show this year, watch a video of the 2010 Heart Truth Fashion Show, and check out the Best of The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collections.
If you quilt, hop over to the Burgundy Buttons blog and you can get in on a quilty blog hop dedicated to raising awareness of heart disease while quilting some original blocks designed from a few of today’s most inspiring quilty bloggers. Check out the Sew Red for Women Blog Hop Details here!
Celebrate the day by participating in the Go Red for Women National Wear Red Day Challenge on facebook as Go Red tries to find the most spirited Wear Red Day supporters from across the nation. Or just have fun looking at all the photos in the Wear Red photo galleries!
Here at BERNINA USA, we’ll be proudly wearing red and sharing photos of our Wear Red Day pride on our BERNINA USA facebook fanpage! Join us on facebook by posting a photo on our wall showing us how YOU are supporting the event!
