Flower Power Bag — CutWork Tool & Software

I’ve been having the most fun with the BERNINA CutWork Tool & Software lately. One of my latest projects was this cutwork bag. I have been giving demonstrations on how the CutWork Tool works, making all of these Ultrasuede flowers. I decided I needed to do something with them, so I sewed all the flowers on the bag using the bartack stitch (artista #25) using Clear Applique Foot #23. Later, I plan to use my EZ Glitzer to add crystals to all the flower centers – when I have more time!

The bag is made from a leather scrap I had in my stash. The Non-Stick feet really helped when I constructed the bag. I used Non-Stick Dual Feed Zigzag Foot #52D for the BERNINA 830. The foot simply glided over the leather and the bag was a breeze to make.

New for my next CutWork project… I layered 10 different cotton fabrics and used the CutWork Tool to cut 50 perfect hexagons for a Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt. Fifty pieces were cut in 6 minutes! Wow… If only I could piece that fast!
