Attention all sewers and crafters, get ready for our new “Wedding Dress Makeover!” Upcycle your wedding gown or bridesmaid dress and enter for a chance to win a $1,000 BERNINA Gift Certificate plus a chance to be featured on WeAllSew.com. And, if that isn’t enough incentive, all challenge participants will be automatically entered in the WeAllSew Challenge Sweepstakes Grand Prize drawing for a chance to win a BERNINA 730 E sewing machine!
How it works:
Throughout the year, you will have the chance to enter three unique challenges that focus on upcycling or reinventing pieces of clothing and fabric. For each challenge, one winner will be selected to receive a $1,000 BERNINA Gift Certificate. The theme of the first challenge is “Wedding Dress Makeover” where you will be aksed to upcycle a wedding gown or bridesmaid dress into something new. All stitchers will be challenged to incorporate something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue into their project. Visit our Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/berninausa for instructions to enter and full contest rules.
How to enter:
Upload a photo of your finished project along with a brief description to our Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/berninausa between Thursday, March 1 and Monday, March 19. For inspiration we’ve upcycled an old wedding dress we thrifted from GoodWill® into a ring pillow and a cute clutch. Full instructions to stitch up the ring pillow and wedding clutch are available and ready for you to download whenever the sewing mood hits.
The “Wedding Dress Makeover” is first up on our contest schedule. You can enter one challenge or all three; it’s completely up to you.
Your challenge entry will be judged by a panel of BERNINA experts based on three criteria: The number of votes each project receives, the project description, and the photo of the finished project. The winner will be announced on the BERNINA Facebook page in early April, 2012.
Additionally, anyone can enter to win the grand prize drawing for a BERNINA 730 E sewing machine by filling out an entry form at your participating BERNINA dealer. Each challenge participant will also be automatically entered into the drawing, to take place in September after all three challenges have ended.
A special thank you to Amy Alan! The creator of the wedding gown (pictured above) featured in the WeAllSew Challenge. You’ll find many more of her projects in design and cuisine, as well as information about her scheduled classes at www.reallyhandmade.com.
Stay tuned for more fun challenges! Have fun stitching “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue!
