Welcome quilters and BERNINA fans!

Today we are introducing the Jump for Joy Quilt Along. This 10-month quilt along will be hosted right here on the BERNINA WeAllSew blog the first Friday of the month.

This Jump for Joy quilt is designed to help you build your skills in both piecing a quilting top as well as quilting it. In the quilt along we will spend five months piecing the quilt top and five months exploring the quilting options. The piecing features traditional patchwork and raw edge fusible appliqué. The quilting is a combination of freemotion and ruler work which can be accomplished on a domestic sewing machine, a stationary longarm on a table or a longarm on a frame. Regardless of whether you own a BERNINA or not, you are welcome to participate in the quilt along.

We will walk step-by-step through making the top right here on the blog. If you need additional assistance with any step, reach out to your local BERNINA dealer. Not sure who that is? Here is a link to the dealer locator to find one near you.

Let’s dive into all the details of the quilt along, the schedule, the fabrics and supplies needed.

Don’t be limited by these two options, use whatever colors or fabrics make your heart happy. For some inspiration, check out these options using Benartex Fossil Fern which is similar to a batik.

Here it is in an orange colorway:

It also looks great in a pale colorway:
